The luckiest man alive!!!

My apologies for not updating this over the last few days. I've been sitting in a state of awe regarding how incredibly lucky I am to have the amazing support that I have.

I'm not sure how many of you have seen the incredible contribution we've received from a complete stranger, Brad Field, for $60,000. I have never met this man before and have no connections to him or his family. He solely saw the report in the Calgary Sun and decided that he wanted to help. This completely backs a theory that I have tried to follow for many years while listening to so much bad news - PEOPLE ARE TRULY AMAZING!!! This is on top of the other incredible support that I have HAD after the opportunity that was given for my wife Tasha and I to publicize regarding what we have been going through for so many years and how we want to help others understand how lucky we are to be here in the first place.

We have appeared on both Global TV news and CTV news, the news report on Q770 radio, the 2 front page covers on the Calgary Sun, a report in the Calgary Herald, and the radio interview on the Craig Chandler show! WOW!!! The idea of us telling our story to the public definitely interested in us, however I must admit that I did not think it would be told. There's so many things going on in this world, plus the fact that we're in the middle of the Holiday season and everyone is so busy. I was blown away with the amount of positive response that we received!!! We are so lucky and so THANKFUL!!!

Anytime I here bad news, I will always stop and remember what's going on right now and the amazing support that we're getting. THIS WORLD IS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE!

Please find attached the websites from the Calgary Sun, Global TV, CTV, and Calgary Herald if you are interested in seeing them:

My daughter, Chelsea, passed on your blog address to me and I am now subscribing to it.

You noted in an earlier entry that you had seen a show on Global about another man in BC with a similar story to yours. That is my son in law, Elias.

He continues his treatments, as do you, operating in a medical system which does not support alternative care... a real tragedy. I wish it were otherwise, because, like you, they are overwhelmed with the costs.

From your blog postings, I sense the same kind of courage and optimism I see in Elias. My prayers are with you and your family as we enter the new year.

I'm not sure if you are following Chelsea's journal about their journey fighting this awful disease, but if you would like the web address, feel free to email.

Keep the faith!

Dear Ryan,
You never have to apologize for not updating your blog site. Whenever you are able to make a new posting, we just feel privileged to be able to take a few more steps along "Ryan's Path" with you.

This latest part of your walk is wonderfully exciting. Congratulations to you, Tasha and Talyn on receiving Brad Field's incredible gift of $60,000. In telling your story to others you and Tasha have impressed so many people with your positive attitude and personal courage. It's clear that people think YOU are just as amazing as you believe THEY are. So, the people whose lives you touch respond in astounding ways.

There are not many news stories today that remind us so vividly that "THIS WORLD IS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE". Thank you for providing us with the links that allow us to follow the news coverage on video and in print. We feel like we are getting to know you better; and we are blessed by your presence in our lives.

You and your family must have had a Christmas to beat all Christmases this year. We pray that this powerful injection of HOPE will support your own determined spirit through even the worst of times.

Continue to enjoy the holiday season, one day at a time. May 2009 be a year of more miracles for you and your family.

Sincere well-wishes,
Louise and David

Congratulations. The charity in this city is amazing.

But why would you want to go on Craig Chandler's show? His name is dubious at best, and I'm not slandering - just do a google search.

I feel really sorry for this couple and am really happy to see the amount of Calgarians stepping up to the plate - especially the incredibly generous donor.

But why would they have anything to do with Craig Chandler? I've seen his tactics for years and they're nothing short of disgusting.

Wow?

How people make what is happening to this family political is beyond me?

These anonymous posters should be ashamed of themselves!

I Googled Craig Chandler as one of these cowards suggested and I found many who love him and many who hate him. That is politics.

But please do not come to this blog and post anything negative. Keep politics out of this.

I have to say I agree with the previous posters - Rob is wrong. This family deserves every bit of kindness but I've googled Craig Chandler and I don't see a lot of positive items. I'm going to send them some money through the bank but on Craig Chandler's radio show he said he'd take a credit card payment through one of his organizations. I'm definitely not going to be doing that, ever.

Rob Allen is a close associate of Craig Chandler's group. Enough said.

Anonymous.

I just want to make it easy to donate to this family and offered another way for people to do it.

Quite frankly, for accounting purposes, I would prefer that people just go to any Royal Bank and make a donation directly to Ryan's Path. This is what I have been encouraging people to do that have been calling in.

Good on you for making a donation, I know the family will appreciate it.

I feel very sorry for this family but I can't donate any money to anything associated with Craig Chandler with what has gone on in the past.

I listened to Craig Chandler's radio show last night and have to agree. What he says about people he doesn't like is disgusting. I don't like the Premier either (he should help this family) but calling him "Stalin-mach"? Wouldn't the "Christian" thing be to "turn the other cheek" towards people Craig doesn't like?

Ryan,

I caught The Chandler Radio Network with you and Tasha. What a story!

I will be donating as a result of this show and dropping by a Royal Bank.

My family will keep your family in our prayers.
