Hi everyone,
I hope that all is well. Things for me are doing well.
Totally used to the changes of being at the hospice. I have chosen to change the term "hospice" to "my pad". After all, I can pretty well get anything I want. Please understand that I'm not saying this in an arrogant manner. I'm just letting cancer know that even though I'm supposed to die here b/c of the past history, I have no intention of doing so. After all, my "pad" is referred to as the "Magic" room. The reasoning behind that is due to the fact that only two patients have ever walked out of this hospice and it was from this room where they had stayed. I am choosing to focus all of my energy on those two people while focusing on myself to get better so that I can be the third person to walk out of this hospice.
The way that I've always thought about anything in life is why does it make logical sense to focus on all of the dieing when I can simply focus on the living. The staff here are phenomenal and has made life for me so much easier to invest all of my energy in getting better. I love them all already, even though I haven't met that many of them, they are outstanding!!!!
Going to be updating things quite a bit and love you all.
As I've said before; Peace, Love and Happiness.
Ciao for now

Dearest Ryan and Tasha.
Looking forward to having a crown royal with you on the golf course when you check out of your "pad".
As I said when I saw you last week "the student is now the teacher." Thank you for teaching us what an evolved man who has determination, drive, poise, grace, dignity and courage all in one package looks like. I am proud to know you.
I think of you constantly throughout the day and in my prayers. Let me know if you need anything at all....day or night.
I love you both
Hey Ryan, Glad to hear your rocking the magic as alway! Lots of love to you, Tash & Talyn - I think of you often! - Steph
Glad to hear things are going well for you. You continue to inspire me with every post you write. All I can say is you are amazing. Keep up your fight you will be the third person to walk out of that room. I also follow your wife's blog you both amaze me and inspire me. I have never meet either of you but what two amazing people you are. God bless you and your family. Truly truly amazing. I look forward to your post when you are the third person to walk out of the magic room.
Hi Ryan,
I went to UBC with you and we were not really in the same circle of friends, but I remember your smiling face. I really value the message that you are sending out in your blog and and I hug my kids extra tight every morning when they wake me up way too early. Thanks for having the energy to blog and I just wanted to let you know that your blog is being read and had an impact. Keep up the good fight.
Peace.
Suzanne
Ciao, Ryan!
Once again, thanks for this latest post from your "pad". Staff at the hospice must be very special people, indeed, if they are able to make life easier for you while you focus all your energy on getting better.
May the peace, love and happiness that you wish us today, bounce right back and fill every corner of your life, too.
Just keep working your own kind of magic in that "Magic Room" of yours.
Cin, cin!

Hi Ryan! Thinking of you and Tasha and Talyn everyday. You have tremendous courage. And as Brad said, I am proud to know you. Keep fighting, and I'll send out all the positive thoughts I can to you and Tasha.
Best,
Ellen G.
Hey Ryan, Tasha, and Talyn! Been thinking about you three a lot lately.
Ryan and Tasha, both of your blogs are great.. so inspirational! I have shown a few of my friends, hope you don't mind! I wanted to show them because your blogs contain so many life lessons that we all need to look at and use to re evaluate the ways we are living our own lives. So many important things that we take for granted, that just fly by us in our daily living. I'm not lying when I say that your story has made me grow as a person. And I don't think there has been one friend that hasn't said "wow" after reading both of your blogs. P.S. I like how you are calling the hospice a pad. It gives it that hip, innovative feel! Oh and I also enjoyed the Tuesdays with Morrie reference in an earlier blog.. greeaaat book! My grade nine class studied it in english. And in his words,
"The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning."
Ryan and Tasha, you are two of the most loving people I know. Every time I see you, you warm my heart! And I think everyone feels that when they are around you. I feel like this quote speaks to both of you, you have both made a huge impact on your community and will continue to do so through this blog! So thanks for just being the great people that you are and teaching me to appreciate the little things in life that make it so great!
and so in Ryan's words,
PEACE, LOVE, AND HAPPINESS :)

p.s. tell Talyn that we need to have a rematch hockey game sometime, no feet tickling allowed, and winner gets ice cream. Ok? I'm here until the end of June so he have a long time to perfect his skills haha.
Ryan,
I cannot tell you what an inspiration you are to me. I read your post a couple of weeks ago, where you asked us all to keep what you are going through in our back pocket, and always remember not to sweat the small stuff.
I wake up every morning, trying to do this. You are such an inspiration and you have taught me so much about what is most important.
I think of you, Tasha and Talyn each and every day. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Natasha
Yo Ryan, neighbour,
You have the best view in the world my friend, - the view of an optimist.
You have the best strength in the world, - your family.
And of course you have the best support in the world - your friends.
You inspire so many people and so many people deeply care about you guys!
We owe you a hug, keep up the tremendous energy, see you soon.
For each of us each day is a gift - you just appreciate it and value it more than most. Your ability to be so present in the face of everything is a miraculous gift to Tasha and Talyn. They are richly blessed to have you as a husband and father. Talyn has learned far more from you in this short time than many fathers teach their children over many more years. Be proud of who you are and how you live.
Our thoughts continue to be with all of you,
Jim & Donna
Hi Ryan,
Luca and I are following your progress and checking for updates daily as well as saying a prayer for you and your amazing family every morning and every night.
I believe in your magic room and I believe the magic pad will pick up on your magic energy and positive outlook as well.
Since the 1st day I discovered your blog, I have changed small things in my life and I want to say thank you. As soon as something starts to bother me you pop into my mind and I put on the biggest smile possible.
Keep on being you.. I dont think it's possible to top that one. You're the man!!
Big big big hugs to you and your family from Vancouver,
Tybie
